Beck Arnley 152-0992 Electric Fuel Pump Review

Pump works great. At the beginning I had the same issue as other commenters where the fuel gauge would not read correctly, and would appear to "stick". Upon removing the pump again, I noticed that the float arm (the metal arm that attaches the float to the pump), was pulled out of it's socket just a little bit.

If you look at the product picture, look at that arm and look where it attaches to the pump. It is clipped into a little plastic swing arm (which is where the contacts are that make up the variable resistor). The clip that holds the arm in is just slightly looser on this one than on the OEM pump, so it may be easier to dislodge it.

When the arm was (slightly) dislodged from it's clip, it caused the top of the plastic swing arm it's clipped to raise up a little bit, which in turn caused it to rub against the track it sits in on the right of the resistor card. That would cause it to stick because there would be just enough friction to stop the float from moving up, maybe until you hit a couple of potholes. Popping the arm properly back into it's clip solved the problem and the float and gauge now work flawlessly!

4 stars because that clip is just slightly looser than the OEM pump, but overall a marvelous buy. Just be careful when installing not to dislodge the float arm.
