I wanted to put this review/rating up because the previous reviewer hadn't even listened to the album, instead complaining about the cost of the vinyl version. Yet with so few reviews in as of yet, his 3-star "review" has driven down the average and given a false impression of this album, which is great.

The Black Crowes don't break any new ground here as compared with their most recent official live releases -- Freak 'n' Roll Into The Fog and Warpaint Live. But this album is certainly on par with those albums, which means it is several notches up from their (somewhat disappointing) official live disc from 2002. Also, as anybody who listens to the Crowes via bootlegs or Live Nation knows, while the band is certainly extremely skillful and always puts on a good show, some shows are more technically proficient than others. All the recordings captured here are top notch, which means that they were at the top of the game when they cut these tracks live and they did a superb job cleaning up the tracks during post-production.

Cut on their tour to promote Croweology, the album is half acoustic (or, at least as acoustic as a six-piece band like the Crowes can get!) and half electric, which like the concerts from the 2010 tour makes for an eclectic mix. This album is clearly meant for the dedicated fan. Of the 26 tracks, I count 13 that are B-sides, rarities, or covers, including Hot Burrito #1 & #2. If you're a casual fan looking for Remedy, Hard To Handle, etc. this is not the album for you. But if, like me, you're the kind of person willing to drive hundreds of miles to see this group play live, then you'll love this album.
