Product Description
"At current gas prices and a conservative estimated fuel savings of 7%, Pulstar Platinum plugs easily PAY FOR THEMSELVES in less than 10,000 miles, and as gas prices rise the payback only gets better. So... youÆll PAY MORE for Pulstar Platinums if you DONÆT buy them! Pulstar Platinum Pulse Plugs are designed to optimize fuel economy by creating a spark which ignites MORE of your fuel/air mixture FASTER. Pulstar Pulse Plugs are a 'drop in' replacement for spark plugs, and utilize technology and components that simply are not found in a conventional spark plug. The key element is called a Pulse Circuit, and it acts in a manner similar to the capacitor in an electronic strobe, storing energy that is fed to it over a relatively long period of time and releasing it during a dramatically short interval. The Pulse Circuit stores energy that spark plugs waste in the ionization phase of the spark, during which the voltage is being built to a sufficient level to cause a spark to jump between the electrode and ground strap. At the moment this occurs, energy which would have otherwise been squandered is applied to the ignition event, creating a spark of such energy that the ignition plume propagates significantly and measurably faster. The result? More efficient combustion of the fuel, resulting in better gas mileage along with more torque and horsepower and REDUCED emissions. Pulstars are GUARANTEED by the manufacturer for as long as you own the vehicle in which you installed them. "Pulstar Pulse Plugs be1p SET OF 4 PLATINUM - Optimized for FUEL ECONOMY Review
These spark plugs are the most overrated junk I have ever used in my life (Also, this review covers my other vehicle that I installed these same wastes of money plugs into in April. I inspected all 14 plugs (6 for the jeep, 8 for the ram) and checked the gaps to factory specifications before installation into my 2003 4.0L Jeep Rubicon and my 2002 5.9L Dodge Ram. Around 3 weeks into using them I started getting misfire codes and my engine was running very rough (no codes on the ram but I was receiving misfires). I removed all 6 spark plugs and inspected them and it appeared the spark plug in cylinder 3 was not sparking. I switched the plug with cylinder 5 to check if the coil pack was misfiring. The engine ran fine for around 100 miles. My codes returned and the engine was running rougher than before so I spent $68.25 on a new coil pack hoping for a low cost fix. Again the engine ran for 75-100 miles before having the same problems. Baffled and not knowing where to go next (and not realizing that every time I disconnected the battery I was resetting the codes and the computer) I took my jeep to my mechanic. I told my mechanic all the maintenance I had performed so he could know where to start from. My mechanic tested all injectors, did a compression test and replaced the oxygen sensors costing me $219.11! He told me the jeep was running great, no codes and was ready to be picked up. I took it home and less than 50 miles I was receiving codes and it was misfiring again. My mechanic said we would need to tear the engine down and replace all seals and rings costing me around $900+!!! I asked him if it would be okay to drive it for a little while until I had the money to do the rebuild (and since my 2002 5.9L Dodge Ram was having the same problems after I installed these same plugs. Luckily I hadn't taken it in to the mechanic yet. It wasn't my daily driver so there were less than 100 miles on these plugs). I drove my jeep for around 500 miles losing gas mileage and more money when my brother suggested I try replacing the spark plugs with E3 plugs. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY!!!!! I have been driving the jeep for over 1000 miles now since the plug swap and I have not had 1 code or any rough idling. My gas mileage has also improved from the 15.4 mpg I was getting with the champion factory plugs which were way past their replacement date at 104000 miles(these plugs dropped it to 13.9) and had a gap wider than the Grand Canyon. I now have 12 useless pieces of ceramic and iridium (if it's really even iridium and I only have 12 because I broke 1 out of each vehicle while removing them.) because the seller I purchased them from says it's past the return time frame. I would have returned these POOR EXCUSES FOR QUALITY AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS RIGHT AWAY IF I HAD KNOW ALL YOU SOLD ME WERE CERTIFIED PIECES OF JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU GO WITH A DIFFERENT PLUG AND DEFINITLY A DIFFERENT SUPPLIER BECAUSE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DOESN'T MATTER TO SUMMERLAND AUTO SPORTS. This is unless you like to throw away money, after all has been said and done I am out $472.48 from these plugs plus the price of the fuel so let's make it an even $500(that's' probably a gross underestimation) when I could have spent $104.72 on the E3 plugs I picked up at Advance Auto Parts. I could have saved $367.77!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THESE AND DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Pulstar Pulse Plugs be1p SET OF 4 PLATINUM - Optimized for FUEL ECONOMY" are high quality item.
