after having a jeep dealer quote me for new headlight housings for my 2001 grand cherokee, I went online and found these at amazon. they arrived in a few days, and it took me less than 90 minutes to install them. it was too difficult to replace the existing wiring harness, so I used the original harness and just swapped out the lamps with the new ones included. this left me with a complete set as spares. cost wise I saved hundreds of dollars doing this myself. my jeep looks new again with new clear housings. removal/install of the housings was easy with a single jackscrew release. some muscle was required to remove the old housings, but I expected that. the best thing about this project for me was how uncomplicated it was, and did not throw off the aim of my headlamps.
