First of all, the piece worked out great but:

Fits very tight and might be hard to remove later on and
the Gentex screw doesn't make solid contact with the OEM mount since it is now recessed in the adapter so I needed to add a filler piece. Otherwise the mirror would wiggle on the adapter and
it's pricey for such a small piece of machined aluminum that needs modification.
