Usually an auto part labeled "OEM" means one that is manufactured by one of the vehicle makers "Original Equipment Manufacturers" (vendors) of component parts used within the factory during assembly. This "OEM" refers to the name of the company: ORIGINAL ENGINE MANAGEMENT. I don't know how good or reliable it is. I purchased this because the OEM nomenclature implied to me that I was getting a part meeting the vehicle makers standards. I did not intend to take a gamble on the quality and life of a part from an unheard of company. I will return this and purchase a Bosch unit. I am disappointed in the liberty's taken with naming this manufacturing company in this way.
