Well, For the amount of money it cost, I thought it would be 100% machined aluminum - but it doesn't seem that way. When you take a closer look at it, there is a lot of imperfections in the metal, kind of like air pockets in the metal, like it came from a mold when they casted it- it is highly polished, I'm thinking of powder coating it... I bought the optima battery for it. And it fits but the side aluminum poles the separate the top and bottom seem a tat to long because when everything is together, it's still wiggles a little and it rattles against the battery when I hit a bump, I need to put something under the top plate to keep it from rattling. I am keeping it but I would buy a 100% billet aluminum one (machined) instead if I was going to do it over again, this should not cost as much as it is with the quality that it is. Not bad but not great either.
