Lund 80005 Truck Cowl Induction Hood Scoop Review

The Lund Truck Cowl is made of good quality material and easy to install. It comes gloss black and unpainted. I recommend you prime and paint it, I have seen unpainted body kits weather from the sun. I scuffed it with steel wool primed it and painted it satin black with auto paint from a spray can. I did several light coats and sprayed the can from a distance to give the cowl a ruff vinyl look. I have had it now for a while and ran it through the car wash with no problems and expect none because, I read and followed the installation directions which are easy to follow. They do provide everything for the installation but, I did use some extra alcohol and rags to make sure I had a clean mounting surface. Over all I am happy with the look and the quality of the product but, the fit is a little large for the smaller trucks. I am very picky and I wanted a more understated look but, that is my personal preference you may not share. If you notice the advertisement picture is on a larger truck so the proportions do look different. It is a factor you may want to consider if your are thinking about purchasing this product. With that said, I do recommend the product it looks good and I think it is the best option available I have found. I do wish it was a few inches smaller to fit my exact tastes and model of truck, (white 2001 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner)which may be unreasonable to expect a manufacturer to produce a product specific to your tastes and model. Nine out of ten good job Lund!
