Nissan NISMO Grey Leather Manual Shift Knob Review

Pros - This gear knob is VERY durable, something to expect from an authentic nismo product. NISMO logo lines up perfectly straight when screwed all the way into ur gear stick.

Cons - to start with, I think nismo should've offered more color options of this gear knob as it doesnt match my interior too well. Shifting takes a bit more effort to do with this knob installed because it's very lightweight so you don't have the additional weight at the top of the gear stick to help with smoother and more fluent shifting. It's simply a little too lightweight. Design is also not ergonomic as it's shape requires you to hold it with your hand in an upright position (i.e side of your pinky facing the floor and side of your index finger facing upwards)

I would consider myself a very highly skilled DIY mechanic. This product was nicely built, with excellent fit and finish. The video indicates it slips right in. Fishing wires around inside a Kia Sedona bumper is not as easy as the video would have you believe. Overall it went as inspected but there was a great deal more pinched fingers and rashed wrists trying to jam my hands into body panels than I expected. It's given us nearly a year of reliable service including towing a popup camper 4000 miles to Yellowstone and back.

Just to set things straight, my three start rating had more to do with my expectations rather than the product itself.

I bought the adapter so I could plug my Galaxy S4 into my cars AMI. Unfortunately, even though the phone connects and charges, the AMI is not able to access the music in the phone. It probably is a phone issue rather than an issue with the adapter itself.

So readers be warned. If you want the adapter so you can pay music over the AMI in your car, this adapter will not be able to do that out of the box. You may be able to achieve it by rooting your phone and maybe installing some apps (I'm still working on it), but no guarantees.
